Vibrant Watercolor Portraits

Painting subtle emotions

The Expression You’ll Never Forget — Painted

In those early years, emotions run deep — long before language begins.

As mothers, we're tuned into the tilt of a head, the quiet gaze, the unexpected bursts of joy or wonder. These are the moments I paint — subtle yet powerful expressions that pass too quickly.

Each portrait is created in vibrant watercolor on Yupo paper to echo that tenderness — not just to capture your child, but to complement the space they grow up in.

It's where art meets portraiture, and portraiture meets home.

Why Moms Love These Portraits

  • Captures a fleeting expression you noticed in passing — and keeps it forever

  • The luminous quality of Yupo paper makes colors glow with life

  • Feels like it was always meant to live in your home — no need for dozens of pieces when one says it all

It’s not just another painting — it’s the one that holds a feeling you never want to forget.

What Other Parents Are Saying

Shirley S.

“Despite not meeting my son in person before doing the painting, she has done phenomenal in grasping his characteristics and his facial expressions. His eyes are one of my favorite parts of his face and the most challenging to portray but the depiction is amazing. She was very thorough in collecting what types of background and painting I like and referenced them well with my son’s face.”

Emma. W.P

“Miwa’s painting captured the innocence and fragility of the subjects while also depicting their strength and resilience. The eyes in particular are captivating. The use of colours is beautiful, as is the addition of floral elements. The painting is full of energy but at the same time fills the viewer with a sense of stillness and calmness.”

Every portrait begins with a story —
here’s how we’ll bring yours to life.

Common Questions

  • Usually 1–2 weeks once we start — but it really depends on how quickly you decide on things like colors and approve the sketch. If you have a special date in mind, just let me know — I’ll do my best to make it work.

  • Before I start the final portrait, you'll always see a rough sketch to make sure you're happy with the composition, pose, and feel. One round of revisions is included at that stage. Only after you give the go-ahead do I begin the final watercolor — so you'll already have a sense of how it will turn out.

  • Yes! I often blend elements — the look from one photo, the lighting from another. It helps tell the story better.

  • Absolutely. I can leave out prices and send it directly to the recipient if you like.

  • Yes — just mention your space’s style or color palette in the form, and I’ll tailor the tones.
