Refund & Replacement Policy

Thank you for supporting original watercolor artwork by Miwa Gardner. Every piece — whether a one-of-a-kind original or a custom portrait commission — is created with care, intention, and quality materials. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

For Original Paintings (Non-Commissions)

All sales of original artwork are final. Because these are one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces, we do not offer refunds, returns, or replacements once an original painting has been purchased.

If your artwork arrives damaged due to shipping, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. While full replacements are not possible, we will review each case individually to determine a fair resolution.

For Commissioned Portraits

Custom portraits are made specifically for each client based on your preferences and photo references.

Refunds

  • Refunds are not available once the painting process has begun.

  • If you cancel within 24 hours of booking (and before sketches begin), a full refund will be issued.

Revisions

  • Each commission includes one (1) revision after a digital preview of the final painting is shared (approximately 95% complete).

  • Additional revisions are at the discretion of the artist and may incur extra fees.

In Case of Damage During Shipping

  • If a commissioned painting is damaged in transit, please report it within 48 hours.

  • The artist will offer:

    • A 50% refund, and

    • A fine art print of the painting — an archival-quality reproduction designed to closely replicate the original.

Additional Notes

  • All commissions are unframed and shipped flat with tracking and insurance.

  • The artist reserves the right to decline additional edits if a creative consensus cannot be reached. In such cases, payment may be credited toward a different artwork from the existing collection.
