A portrait of someone you'll never stop looking at.
Expressive watercolor portraits, painted from your photographs and shaped around the person's story — not a template, a likeness with feeling in it.

Two Ways to Begin
Keepsake — $290
12″×16″, one figure, simple background. A smaller, personal piece — a first portrait, or a gift for someone close.
Signature — $540
22″×30″ — the same size as Gala’s portrait. Bold scale, simple background, so the likeness carries the piece.
What People Are Saying
“Miwa painted a complex portrait of our oldest son as a Christmas gift for my wife, and she absolutely nailed it. The likeness is uncanny. She kept me updated throughout, and truly listened to what mattered most. An A+ artist and an A+ portrait.”
-Ben-Emma
“Despite not meeting my son in person before doing the painting, she has done phenomenal in grasping his characteristics and his facial expressions. His eyes are one of my favorite parts of his face and the most challenging to portray but the depiction is amazing. She was very thorough in collecting what types of background and painting I like and referenced them well with my son’s face.”
-Shirley
“Both my partner and I were very moved by the way Miwa captured our son in the painting. With only few colours, Miwa shows his features, his sensitivity and his childish curiousity. I am very happy with the result and how Miwa has approached the painting process, taking my wishes into consideration. Ultimately, I trusted her as the artist to make the right decisions for composition etc. - and that was the right call! It’s beautiful.”

This depends on where the artwork will be presented and your preference. Although I do believe the bigger the surface for me to paint, the more energetic and emotional the brushstrokes can be.

Yes! I offer a preliminary sketch service for $20 USD, which includes two watercolor sketches based on your reference photo. This helps you preview the composition and decide if you'd like to move forward with a full commission. If you decide to proceed, the $20 sketch fee will be deducted from the total price.

No, I don't paint smiling faces. I love capturing subtle, unspoken emotions, which is where my passion lies. Smiling faces don't resonate with the style emotions I aim to convey in my work.

Yes. I sign and date each original artwork on the back so the signature does not interfere with the artwork itself. A formal certificate of authenticity is not currently included; however, each commission comes with a handwritten note signed by me.
